Matt Payne has the hot hand in Supercars at the moment, a status the 22-year old Kiwi will be eager to maintain as the championship continues this weekend at the Snowy River Caravans Tasmania Super440.
The Grove Racing driver took two wins from three races at the ITM Taupō Super440 last month, becoming just the third Kiwi driver to win the Jason Richards Memorial Trophy in New Zealand.
Payne’s sensational weekend in NZ has vaulted him to third in the drivers’ championship heading into this weekend’s event.

The young gun will be hoping to continue that form at a track where the Grove team struggled in 2024, Payne managing finishes of just 19th and 23rd in the two races at Symmons Plains Raceway last year.
Payne and 19-year old Kai Allen make up the youngest teammate pairing on the grid in 2025, with Mount Gambier’s Allen turning heads by picking up a pair of top 10 finishes in Taupō last time out.
Allen won the Dunlop Super2 Series championship in 2023, but has never raced at Symmons Plains Raceway, one of several circuits he is learning on the fly in his first full Supercars season.
