Supercars goes endurance racing this weekend, as the Ryco Enduro Cup gets underway at the AirTouch 500 at The Bend in South Australia.
The Bend Motorsport Park will host its second Supercars endurance race, with 500 kilometres of racing scheduled for Sunday afternoon.
Dick Johnson Racing’s Brodie Kostecki and Todd Hazelwood won last year’s AirTouch 500 and are firmly in the mix of front runners for this year’s event.
Adelaide native Hazelwood is among eight South Australian’s among the 52 drivers on the grid for this weekend’s race.
Housemates turned driving partners, Kostecki and Hazelwood teamed up in 2024 to win the Bathurst 1000 for Erebus Motorsport, before joining the famed DJR squad in 2025.
While the duo are looking for a repeat, Kiwi Matt Payne is looking for a rebound after a frustrating end to the Ipswich Super 440 last month.
Payne was in line to win the Repco Sprint Cup at Queensland Raceway before an electrical issue took him out of Race 28 of the season, allowing Gold Coaster Broc Feeney to come from behind to take the honours.
23-year old Payne finished third in last year’s AirTouch 500 with Garth Tander before the pair won the Bathurst 1000.
Tander retired following last year’s Bathurst triumph, with Grove Racing selecting two-time Bathurst 1000 winner Will Davison to partner with Payne for this year’s endurance campaign.
The AirTouch 500 at The Bend is the 10th round of the 2026 Supercars season, with on-track action beginning Friday ahead of qualifying on Saturday, and Sunday’s 500-kilometre race.
This year’s event will utilise The Bend’s shorter West Circuit, which will provide fans more racing laps and is anticipated to bring event more intense on-track action.
