New lid for SVG for this weekend’s Quaker State 400

Shane van Gisbergen will make his fifth NASCAR career start at EchoPark Speedway in Hampton, Georgia, competing in the Quaker State 400 Available at Walmart. In February, van Gisbergen recorded a top 10 finish (sixth) at the 1.54-mile track.

“Last year we felt how much the track went off and it started sliding around a lot more in the heat,” said van Gisbergen. “It’s (EchoPark Speedway) one of my better tracks. I always seem to go well there but it’s a crazy place to race.

“It’s like a superspeedway on steroids. Your brain is just fried at the end, you’re flat out the whole time and always in a battle. You’re hanging on, that’s for sure.

“I need to really step it up on the ovals. We all do as this is an oval championship, and I need to keep getting better at them.

“It’s tough, the next seven weeks are going to be crucial for us to get into the playoffs. We have to be consistent every week, do the best we can and don’t get involved in anything silly. Just continue to be there every week.”

Point Standings: Van Gisbergen enters this weekend at EchoPark Speedway 14th in the Cup Series driver standings, 26 points above The Chase cutline.

Van Gisbergen will sport a new helmet inspired by the limited-edition Red Bull Energy Drink cans, available exclusively at Circle K for a limited time. The special NASCAR-themed cans feature Trackhouse Racing drivers van Gisbergen and teammate Connor Zilisch, marking Red Bull’s first NASCAR-inspired Energy Drink packaging in 15 years.
