Will Brown seeking maiden Supercars title

It’s race day on the famous streets of Adalaide, with the first Supercars race at the VAILO Adelaide 500 set to take place this afternoon.

Saturday could be a career-defining day in the life of Will Brown, who is in line to seal his first Repco Supercars Championship in today’s race.

Brown holds a 180-point advantage over nearest challenger Broc Feeney, and will mathematically clinch the championship is that advantage Is over 150 at the end of toady’s race.

The 26-year old from Toowoomba is in prime position, sitting on provisional pole after yesterday’s bizarre Boost Mobile Qualifying session.

Three cars made significant impact with the barriers at the infamous Turn 8 just a few minutes into Friday qualifying yesterday. With Richie Stanaway’s heavy slap followed immediately by monstrous crashes from Cameron Hill and David Reynolds.

Oddly, all three incidents were unrelated to each other, and all happened in the space of less than a minute. All drivers were uninjured in their respective incidents, but the chances of Hill and Reynolds’ smashed machines being able to race today remains to be seen.

On-track Supercars action at the 2024 season finale VAILO Adelaide 500 begins with a 30-minute practice session at 10:00 a.m. ACDT, followed by the Boost Mobile Top Ten Shootout at 12:35 p.m.

Today’s 78-lap, 250-kilometre race begins at 3:20 p.m.
