Wins for Sceats and van der Drift in Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia

Vincenzo Sospiri Racing (VSR) made a triumphant return to the Sepang International Circuit taking double victories at the opening round of the 2026 Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia season at Malaysia’s 5.543km racetrack. The PRO-AM pairing of two-time champion Chris van der Drift (NZ) and Bronze-ranked teammate Todd Kingsford proved formidable when the pair took overall victory in race one, heading home the Batmobile Racing Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2 of newcomer and solo PRO entry William Tregurtha, and young VSR PRO pairing (NZ) Liam Sceats and Gustaw Wisniewski.

An equally thrilling race two saw Sceats and Wisniewski narrowly pip VSR team mates van der Drift and Todd to the line after a spectacular last-lap battle, with Lamborghini Bundang by Racegraph PRO pair Peter Li Zhicong and Titus Sherlock joining them in the overall top three, the American resisting a furious challenge from Tregurtha all the way to the flag.

After a spectacular season-opener, Sceats and Wisniewski top the PRO leaderboard, equal on points with Tregurtha. A VSR squad also leads the PRO-AM class, this time van der Drift and Kingsford, while KAM LUNG Racing’s Bertram Lau is top of the AM table. Thailand’s Weeraborwornpong has already amassed a ten-point advantage in the Lamborghini Cup lead from Lamborghini Busan by Racegraph’s Steven Chian and Kim Sangho.

Lamborghini Super Trofeo heads to China next for the second of its six rounds where it makes its debut at the Ningbo International Speedway
