The 2024 VAILO Adelaide 500 kicks off today on the streets of the South Australian capital, with two 250-kilometre Supercars races to unfold and a championship to be decided at this weekend’s massive four-day event.
Will Brown and Broc Feeney are the two drivers heading into this weekend’s event able to win the Supercars championship, with Brown up 180 points on his Triple Eight Race Engineering teammate.
Drivers got behind the wheel of their Supercars yesterday for the first ever Track to Town in Adelaide, where all 24 Supercars drove into Victoria Square, welcomed by a huge contingent of local race fans waiting to meet their favourite drivers.
Among the star drivers on site were Will Davison and Matt Payne, past winners on the streets of Adelaide.
Two-time Bathurst 1000 winner Davison counts his Adelaide win as one of his most prized, while Payne made waves last year, picking up his first career win in the final race of the 2023 season.
On-track action at the 2024 VAILO Adelaide 500 begins today with Supercars’ first practice session at 3:45 p.m. ACDT. Supercars will race on Saturday and Sunday, with Races 23 and 24 of the 2024 season to wrap up this year’s Repco Supercars Championship.
