SCT Motorsport’s Jaxon Evans heads to the VAILO Adelaide 500 high on confidence as he prepares to race at the famous street circuit for the first time in six years.
Completing his maiden full-time Repco Supercars Championship campaign in Adelaide provides an opportunity for Evans to enter the 2025 season with strong momentum after he was recently confirmed by SCT Motorsport as continuing next year.
The last time Evans raced in Adelaide it was the opening round rather than the conclusion and he won the Porsche Carrera Cup Australia round on the way to that season’s title.
“It’s an exciting prospect and it’s one of my favourite circuits,” said Evans. “Again, like Gold Coast, it will be six years since I last drove the circuit and the first time in one of these Gen3 cars will be pretty exciting.
“It might be a little daunting also, but I believe racing at the Gold Coast provides the perfect lead-in.”
The Gold Coast provided a confidence boost for Evans thanks to some solid gains from not only his team, but a driver point of view after attacking the high kerbs and tight confines of the Surfers street circuit.
Adelaide is similar in areas to the Gold Coast circuit in terms of kerbs and the close proximity of the concrete walls, but the fearsome Turn 8 highlights the fast nature of the 3.219km layout.
The challenging circuit configuration is one thing, but the scorching heat makes racing conditions some of the toughest experienced during the season.
Evans is focused on following through on the potential displayed at various times this season and is targeting to end his maiden season on a high.
The final round of the Repco Supercars Championship, the VAILO Adelaide 500 is on November 14-17.
