Kiwis prominent in first Supercars enduro race

After a wild afternoon of Supercars racing, Chaz Mostert and Fabian Coulthard have taken a remarkable victory for Toyota at the AirTouch 500 at The Bend.

It’s Mostert’s 30th career win, tying Dick Johnson on the all-time list, and his second of 2026.

South Australian pair Kai Allen and Tim Slade finish second on home turf for Ford, while Mostert’s Kiwi teammates Ryan Wood and Jaxon Evans finished third.

A day after none of the five Toyota GR Supras qualified in the top 10 for today’s race, they occupy first and third on the podium.

It was a frenetic race from the start, with drivers battling wet weather for the first two thirds of the race, before drying out in the sunshine in the later stages.

While many of the front runners faltered in the changing conditions, Mostert emerged in front and ultimately cruised to an 18-second victory, his first in a 500km enduro.

Attention now turns to the Great Race, the 2026 Repco Bathurst 1000, which takes place October 8 – 11 at the iconic Mount Panorama Circuit.
