Racing Bulls’ Liam Lawson exited the Miami Grand Prix early after a collision with Alpine’s Pierre Gasly. The accident occurred at Turn 17 when Gasly lined up a pass on Lawson down the outside. Lawson moved to the inside in a defensive move and suffered a lock-up, clipping the left rear of the Alpine which sent Gasly into the air and completely over, ending up hitting the barrier.

Lawson’s Racing Bulls car also suffered damage and retired out on Lap 6. The incident will be reviewed after the end of the race.

The Gasly Lawson incident happened shortly after Red Bull’s Isack Hadjar also crashed out of the Grand Prix in Miami forcing a Safety Car period to neutralise the field.
