Having gained his first points for the 2026 FIA Formula 3 Championship season finishing ninth in the Sprint Race on Saturday, Louis Sharp struggled to repeat his move through the field, finishing down in 19th in Sunday’s Feature Race in Barcelona.
“Today was a difficult day for us,” commented Sharp. “The pace wasn’t quite as good as in yesterday’s race. There was a lot of battling going on, and I lost out a little on the Virtual Safety Car restart, which hurt our pace, as I had to push hard to get back into clean air, and it was a bit tricky with the tyres.
“There are a few things we need to work on, and we learned some things today, which is good. We need to put that into action. I’m really looking forward to the Red Bull Ring, as we were really strong in testing a couple of weeks ago, so we can go in quite confident.”
Théophile Nael was at his brilliant best as he claimed a maiden F3 victory in the Barcelona Feature Race. The Campos Racing driver kept the lead at the start from pole, and resisted pressure from Van Amersfoort Racing’s Hiyu Yamakoshi, who finished second, early on before taking victory, with teammate Ugo Ugochukwu rounding out the podium in third.
Ugo Ugochukwu leads the Drivers’ Standings on 58-points, but Théophile Nael, who is now up to second, has reduced his advantage to just six points going to Spielberg. Bruno del Pino is third on 48-points, just one point ahead of Freddie Slater with Brando Badoer fifth on 41.
In the Teams’ Standings, Campos Racing continue to lead the way with 126-points, with Van Amersfoort Racing second with 99. Rodin Motorsport are up to third with 57-points, while TRIDENT are a point behind in fourth. ART Grand Prix completed the top five with 34.
The category will take a week’s break before hitting the track in Spielberg for Round 4 from June 26-28.
