Brown is back, Toowoomba kid takes pole for Sunday race in Ipswich

Toowoomba’s Will Brown is back in business, taking pole for today’s Supercars race at the Century Batteries Ipswich Super 440.

The 2024 Supercars champion picked up his first Boost Mobile Pole since March at the Australian Grand Prix, coming less than a day after his first race win in over a year yesterday.

Brown’s teammate Broc Feeney will start second in the final race of the weekend of Queensland Raceway, making an all-Red Bull front row for today’s 200-kilometre race.

Provisional pole sitter Kai Allen will roll off from third, with Dick Johnson Racing’s Brodie Kostecki alongside him, and 2025 Supercars champion Chaz Mostert in fifth for Toyota.

Sunday’s 62-lap Supercars race begins at 3:20 p.m. AEST.

Championship leader Matt Payne is in the box seat to clinch the Repco Sprint Cup today.

The Kiwi starts sixth for today’s race and needs to finish 17th or better to lock away the Sprint Cup and 25 crucial bonus points for the start of the Finals in October.
