Mother Nature has thrown a Supercar-sized curveball into final preparations for today’s AirTouch 500 at The Bend.
Following two perfect days of clear, sunny weather at The Bend Motorsport Park, the heavens opened during Sunday morning’s Supercars warm-up, with rain wreaking havoc on this morning’s session.
The 20-minute session was littered with cars sliding off-track as drivers struggled with the challenging conditions.

Blanchard Racing Team’s James Golding and wet weather guru Richie Stanaway topped the session, while pole sitters Brodie Kostecki and Todd Hazelwood were 19th.
The session throws even greater uncertainty across a weekend where no true form guide has been set, throwing this afternoon’s race wide open.
Today’s 147-lap, 500-kilometre race is set to begin at 1:45 p.m. ACST.
