200km race today at the Townsville 500

Day two is set to begin at the NTI Townsville 500, featuring a 200-kilometre Supercars race. Saturday will host the second Supercars race of the weekend, after Cam Waters held off a charging Brodie Kostecki to win Friday’s 100-kilometre race on the streets of Townsville.

It was Waters’ second win of 2026 and his fourth podium finish in a row, as the 31-year old from Mildura re-establishes himself as a genuine contender at the front of the field.

Kiwi Matt Payne heads into today as the new leader of the drivers’ championship, courtesy a third-place finish in yesterday’s sprint.

Triple Eight drivers Broc Feeney and Will Brown will be looking for a rebound today following a shocker in qualifying on Friday.

Feeney and Brown qualified 16th and 19th for yesterday’s race, but were able to recover to 10th and 7th respectively in an impressive fight back.

Supercars action in Townsville begins today with Boost Mobile Qualifying at 11:25 a.m. AEST.

The three-part qualifying session will conclude with a Boost Mobile Top Ten Shootout, setting the grid for today’s race, which begins at 3:05 p.m.
